Thomas is currently studying medicine at the Eberhard-Karl University and is at the beginning of his fifth year. In 2018, he carried out the laboratory work for his doctoral thesis at the Schenke-Layland Lab in Tübingen. His work contributed to determining the penetration depth of cold atmospheric plasma into cervical tissue in order to establish a better clinical indication. Using Raman microspectroscopy and with the help of the laboratory staff and his supervisor Martin Weiss, this was an achievable goal. Furthermore, he was supported by the IZKF Promotionskolleg 2018. In his free time he likes to spend time with his friends and his girlfriend, ballroom dancing, doing sports and playing games.
